Coaching Programmes and Pricing
Clients’ needs vary and so do the packages we offer
Our aim is to ensure a positive return on your investment by agreeing the approach which is right for you.
This may be just one or two sessions, to focus on a specific issue or ‘kick start’ a change, or form an ongoing programme of support to really benefit from enhanced insight and an opportunity to explore issues in depth.
The first step is a ‘chemistry call’ or meeting to ensure that there is a good fit between coach and client. This is essential to for you to feel comfortable and confident in ‘going places’ which may at times be sensitive and challenging. This initial conversation is free of charge and is both a ‘taster’ and opportunity to consider the right approach for you.
As a guide, a typical coaching programme generally consists of approximately four sessions, usually of one to two hours length:
- Session 1 – getting to know one another and ensuring rapport. Establishing your background ‘story’ and identifying your aspirations and objectives and any particular problems or challenges. A structure and format is agreed for the future sessions and the coaching relationship – establishing the ‘psychological contract’. In some cases psychometric measures, including personality or aptitude tests, are suggested – in order to help identify your unique abilities, career interests, motivations, work personality and so on. Ideally, these will be completed by the client between sessions 1 and 2
- Session 2 – essentially performing a ‘reality check’, assessing your actual abilities or circumstances in relation to your aspirations or objectives – and modifying objectives if appropriate. In career coaching this session often focuses on identifying your individual strengths and weaknesses – with the emphasis on using your strengths to greatest effect. This will involve feeding back and discussing the results of any psychometric measures, if used, and relating findings to your personal circumstances or goals. In executive coaching this and any subsequent sessions will focus on exploring your issues in greater depth and experimenting with behaviour changes and the emotional impacts of these.
- Session 3 – in the case of career coaching this often focuses on identifying and reviewing all the options for change which are realistically open to you, in relation to your interests, motivations, personality type and individual strengths and weaknesses – and the kinds of employment or training opportunities which may be available to you. These result in the formation of agreed career action steps – addressing and assessing the various options identified. In executive coaching this and any subsequent sessions will continue exploring your issues in greater depth and reviewing the success of behaviour changes and addressing any issues or obstacles which may arise.
- Sessions 4+ – future sessions involve supporting you through the various action steps involved in pursuing the career or training options, or behaviour changes identified, and addressing any personal development needs. Contents of subsequent sessions will vary and these can be as many or as few as are required – regarding your own individual needs and the demands of the situation you are in. Although some clients require more sessions than others, the aim is to keep these to the minimum required and avoid the development of dependency on the process – our aim is to make ourselves redundant and focus on fulfilment of specific and agreed actions and planned outcomes.
